An 800 MHz antenna will be a mismatch for a 450-470 radio, using such a radio for transmitting could either damage the radio, or if the radio is set up to detect a mismatch, it may shut down to prevent damage.
You can buy a gain antenna for the UHF range you are looking for. The size may be a problem, but you can always google gain antenna and 450-470 MHz and get some options in the right size
An antenna for that wavelength will not be very large, you might take a look at the attachment which came from Newtronics, there’s one for 450-470 MHz with 6 dBd gain.

865mhz To 954mhz Mini Rfid Reader Antenna
Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc. (www.GAORFID.com) has released its mini RFID reader antennawith acrylic radome, which is intended for demanding item-level deployments. This mini RFID reader antenna has outstanding near-field performance and operates effectively at a maximum read distance of 7.5 cm. It has immunity to the RF-transmission limiting effects of items such as liquids, powders, and metallic packaging.
The UHF RFID reader antenna, model 326011, operates at 865 to 954MHz for use in both North America and Europe. This antenna depends on weakening far-field gain to minimize stray reads. It operates well between 0C to 40C and has an input power of 30dBm. The mini reader antenna uses a SMA female connector which requires an accessory cable to connect to an RFID reader’s RP-TNC connector. The antenna is an ideal choice for applications in access control, ticketing, document control, high-speed encoding stations, packaging lines or any application requiring high reliability and a constrained read zone.
